Each day passes and a new one begins.  Though it is hard to make it through the nights sometimes.  I will live the rest of my days in ~Matthew~ honor.  I will have peace in my heart knowing that ~Matthew~ was mine. ~Matthew~ Was here to make me who I am today.  Yes, there are so many questions that I want answered.  Yes, I do have anger that ~Matthew~ is not here with me now.
Yes I want to keep ~Matthew~ memory inside me, and share it with those that will listen. Though somedays it is hard to get out of bed I will do it for ~Matthew~.  For those people that cross my path when I am having a bad moment, please somehow send them a sign that I am sorry.  For the times when I received a phone call and I dont seem to freindly. please forgive me.
For those that are reading this and feel the same way I do, Please light a candle so I know I am not alone in this world.  Let me know that you too are hurting for the loss of your loved one.  This is the only way we are going to make it through this.....  Together......
~Matthew~  was here in body, HE is still here in spirit and HE is with you always.  Know that when you are having a bad time, and feeling lonely.... ~Matthew IS STILL HERE!!!!~  Carry him with you, live your life the way ~Matthew~ would have.
I wrote this for the families that have lost a loved one.  You are not alone. but If you are like me, sometimes you feel that way.

I do not know you or your family but my heart grieves for you.  I haven't lost a child but have had a number of miscarriages and lost my husband in a car accident in 1998.  However, I realize not the same.  Reading your webpage...I was overcome with grief.   My prayers are with you and your family and baby Matthew.

I have read your story and I can say I know how you feel.  Eric drowned in an unfenced irrigation ditch, this should never happen to a family.  We are trying to pass a bill to stop this from being something another family has to go through.

Your baby is so cute and I know that each day does not always mean you feel a little better.  Eric's birthday is next week, we should be getting ready to party with him at his favorite pizza place.

Accidents are a tragic for all of us. Weather we had something to do with it, or if we lose someone to death through an accident.

It is a shock that is very hard to absorb. Who wants to? Sometimes we have no choice in that decision.

It is so sad that Matthew died a tragic death, and at such a young age where he was defensive to help himself. Remember he was not totally alone, God is always with us, and I am sure he was holding Matthews hands and guiding him into his next journey of life.

I am sure the neighbours feel bad and your family is hurting beyond belief. "IF ONLY" must be going through everyones mind daily.

if only - there was a fence around the pool
if only - there wasn't any stairs around the pool
if only - there was a fence around his yard
if only - he wasn' t alone
if only - he didn't die

The "if's" are what we have to forget and remember the loving time we had with our children.I pray that Matthew is in the loving arms of Jesus Christ,as he has said "Let the child come on to me"

Life seems to be planned out for us. No matter how hard we all try to be perfect and be on top of everything, things happen and we can't explain them. I believe God has his reasons for taking our children and they will be unknown to us until we meet with our children again. God only seems to take the good guys. So feel blessed that God lent you his child and with the wonderful job you did with him, he needed him back now.

May God continue to give you the strength to continue with getting your laws and bylaws changed. May he help you with your anger, and may he see to it, that you can have joy everyday with your other son, who needs you both very much right now.

The death of a child, no matter which way, is hard for all parents, and it is so good that we can express our emotions to each other. This site is a wonderful place for us to do this.
